Hey all, If you feel led, and are in need of a quick study break, please respond to this query:
How do you stay centered and present during times of stress?
Good luck with finals. Don't let them get you down.
Purpose Faith and Practice is a QLSP committee that is in the process of creating a document which will represent the community's purpose, faith, and practice. Committee Members for Fall of 2013: Deborah Shaw, Grace Ethier (clerk), Keenan Lorenzato, Nate Secrest, and Zachary Kronisch. We invite you to share as you are led but please remember this is public, centered space.
I write accountability on my hand to remind me of my goals as a student, and to motivate me. I also seek time for study breaks, to get off campus and breathe, and check in with others who might be stressed as well.
ReplyDeleteI personally find that fresh air really helps me get my mind back on track. When the stress of homework begins to pile up I find that my mind tries to fire on all cylinders and go in twenty directions at once but this just ends up accomplishing a whole lot of nothing.
ReplyDeleteWhen it hits a boiling point I always remember what brings me back down to a manageable stress level is a quick breath of air. Even a five minute session of deep breathing on my porch gets me right back on track. There's something about a lungful crisp autumn air that does wonders.
Making my mind a blank slate whenever I feel myself becoming overwhelmed with all of the work that I have to accomplish puts everything back into perspective and reminds me that there is more to life than school work. I try to take three very deep breaths and clear my mind of all my worries, sort of like instant meditation and then I feel refreshed and ready to conquer the work that must be done. I also set aside ample time for meals and sleep so that I don't feel exhausted after a long day or week of work.
ReplyDeleteI either take a walk outside and spend enough time in nature to feel truly human again and release the stress, or I lose myself in music.
ReplyDeleteI never sacrifice sleep and avoid places where I know I will procrastinate. I will also take walks or showers if I am really stressed.
